The snow has finally abated enough for us to go back to our normal working hours from tomorrow Thursday 14th March.

Both the school at Les Cotils and the nursery at Kings will be open and back to our normal hours.

Please be aware that travel to and from both of the locations is entirely at your own risk. Please do not attempt the commute if your route is too treacherous.

We look forward to all of the snow stories tomorrow!

Dear Parents

The Education Department has decided to close all States Schools following advice from the Police and States Works and the Colleges are also following suit. The Preps class will therefore remain closed and there will be no formal lessons.

We have carried out a risk assessment today and have made the decision to offer emergency cover only between 9.30 and 3.30pm tomorrow at the Monkey Puzzle @ King’s site only for families who require essential childcare. This facility is offered to both Monkey Puzzle School and Monkey Puzzle @ King’s children as we consider the location at Les Cotils too treacherous to open.

We are offering this service to our families but parents MUST make their own assessment and decision as to whether or not they wish to make use of these restricted hours.  Travel to and from school will be entirely at your own risk

Entry to the Kings site will be as normal but please be aware that extreme caution is required on the slope down to the car park.

We look forward to returning as normal on Thursday.

We thank you for your understanding

Caroline, Corinne and Alison

Please take a note of these important dates for the coming weeks…..

World Book Day Thursday 7th March

  • Bring your favourite book with you to read together in your class

Red Nose day Friday 15th March

  • Red Noses and Raffle tickets are now available both at Kings and Les Cotils
  • Kings is come dressed in your oneies day
  • School Decorate the silly glasses that all the children will be coming home with and enter the competition for the silliest pair of glasses!

We have had our annual inspections this last week at both school and nursery and we are happy to say that nothing went wrong!

Linda even happily had her photo taken whilst she was busy at work with Caroline.

Despite the wind and snow we have made it in today to open the school.

Please be very careful if you make your way in as the roads are a little treacherous and slippery.

On the plus side it is very very pretty…..

This week our Preps class were invited to sing some Christmas carols for the elderly at The Russells Centre to help spread a little Christmas cheer.

They all sang their hearts out, putting a smile on everyones faces in the room.

Afterwards the Preps had a special visit themselves from Santa who kindly gave them a bag of chocolate coins each to say thank you for that little extra Christmas joy.

We hope the Russells Centre had just as much fun as what we all did!

Heres a link to the Russells Centre so you can see for yourself the good work that they do…

We couldn’t resist posting this!! Its too true….

Thank you Christine for finding it for us…..

‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the school
The teachers were trying
To keep their cool.

The hallways were hung
With Christmas art
(Some made in November
to get a head start!)

With holiday shirts
And jingle bell jewels
The teachers looked festive
Enforcing the rules.

When out of the teachers lounge
There came a chatter
The principle went in
To see what was the matter.

The teachers were hiding
And trying to refuel
On coffee and cookies
And treats from the Yule.

When what to their wondering
Ears do they hear
But the ringing of school bells
It’s the children they fear!!

More rapid than reindeer
The little ones come
And the teachers all shouted
And called them by name.

Walk Vincent! Walk Tanner
Walk Tyler and Sammy
Sit Jamie! Sit Laura!
Sit, Tara and Tammy!

To your desks in the room!
To your spots in the lin|!
Now walk to them! Walk to them!
No running this time!

So straight to their places,
The children all went.
With fear of detention
Where they could be sent.

With manuals of lessons
Cradled in arms
The teachers began
To use all their charms.

But the lessons presented
All fell on deaf ears
The children were thinking
Of Santa’s reindeers!

With a toss of their hands
They put their manuals aside
Went straight to the cupboards
Where videos hide.

And laying their finger
On the TV remote
They sat back to write
Their Christmas tree note.

But you could hear them exclaim
At the end of the long day
Have a wonderful, happy and
